Ruth Lague

I paint quiet, modern landscapes for people who are drawn to simplicity, clarity, and a more grounded way of living.

Growing up in Alaska, freedom wasn’t an idea—it was something you felt in your body. Wide open space, long stretches of quiet, and a deep connection to the natural world shaped how I see and experience things. That sense of vastness—and of being held within it—has stayed with me.

Today, I paint fields, barns, and open horizons—not to describe a specific place, but to express a state of being. My work is about breath, steadiness, and the feeling of coming back to yourself. I believe the sacred is not separate from everyday life. It’s found in simple things—a horizon line, a shift in light, a moment of stillness. My paintings are a way of paying attention to that.
